Episode One Hundred Sixty Two: "OK, we're even. 3 years of this. I don't think I have many lines left." Welcome to our three year anniversary (birthday) episode. We talk a little about how the show came to be, but the bulk of the episode is spent talking about one of our favorite thing. Coincidentally, some of those favorite things cause us to argue, a lot. We revisit a couple of the early episodes and discuss how one million moms can ruin everybody's fun. I will update the show notes tomorrow, because I want to give credit, but suffice to say for now, thank you. It was very humbling and greatly appreciated. Episode One Hundred Sixty One: "Lord Vader, this is an unexpected pleasure. We are honored by your presence.." This week, we finish out the original Star Wars trilogy with episode IV, Return of the Jedi. A small glitch forced us to abandon the special edition version after the climactic duel between Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader. We pick up right where we left off with the unaltered original version. Keep listening for feedback and a very special episode of "Scenes the way they should have happened" written by and starring Reverend Scott. Music is from "The Art of War." Call us at 206-338-3094 or write areyouseriouspodcast@gmail.com Next week is our 3 year anniversary. You don't have to do anything special, or call or write in... just sayin'. Three years without missing a week. That's a long time. Kind of a big deal.

Episode One Hundred Fifty Nine: "I told you she would never consciously betray the Rebellion." This week Chris and Frank forgo the usual news, politics, religion and stupidity and offer up a change: running commentary for Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope. Why? Well, to be honest, why not? The commentary has some good parts, but there is a lot of name calling and crude words. So, pretty much par for the course, I guess. We hope you enjoy it. Next week, we will be tackling The Empire Strikes Back and the week after will be Return of the Jedi. Then the episode after, will feature a detailed review of the blu-ray releases. Keep an eye out for special bonus episodes in the next few weeks of Are You Serious addressing some of our usual topics. Episode One Hundred Fifty Eight: "Oh they will know about it, Burke. From me. Just like they'll know that you were responsible for the deaths if 158 colonists here." Question: Should everyone involved in the 9/11 attacks be labeled as heroes? There were heroes to be sure, but there were victims as well. Does calling everyone a hero lessen the impact of the word? Des is lessen the acts of those that ran in the buildings when others were running out? Does it elevate the victims to a level that maybe they shouldn't be at? Frank raises the question and it's not as easy an answer as you might think. Also, we start this episode with some real movie reviews, with grades and everything! Father of the year locks his daughters in a room for 41 years. 9/11 documentary glorifies Bush, not concerned with facts. 10 myths about television that people believe. GOP: Tax cuts for the rich create jobs. GOP corporate chairman: "Baloney." Young people are not worth minimum wage, GOP says in New Hampshire. GOP oppose tax cuts for working people. Bank of America to Rick Perry: "We'll help you out." (video) Why don't we resent Steve Job's wealth? Anti-gay Indiana state rep solicited 18 year old boy on craigslist. Disney is pretty sure they don't need scripts. Texas vampire attacks random woman. Teen charged with planning to blow up Freedom High School. Ben Stein argues with Bill O'Reilly about taxing the rich. Anne Hathaway rap re-mixed with Nero and Skrillex by DJ Woody. (video) We are going to move away from news and politics for the next three weeks. If anything super infuriating happens, we'll do a bonus show. Meanwhile, starting next week, please enjoy out Star Wars Original Trilogy commentary episodes. Episode One Hundred Fifty Six: "Okay. Back home... I'm worth $156 million dollars." This week, we talk a little about "Rise of the Planet of the Apes," free of spoilers, and "Super 8" full of spoilers. Chris and Frank spontaneously lay out their presidential platform. Then we move on to our news stories for the week. Here are some links to this week's topics: Petition calls for Bert and Ernie to be married. Seriously. (Just released, the day after we recorded, Sesame Workshop responds the the petition. Basically says, "Shut the hell up." Only more polite) Woman eats her deceased husband's ashes to help her cope with his death. Why didn't President Obama's "Hip-Hop BBQ birthday party" create jobs? Wait... what? 36 million pounds of salmonella tainted turkey went out the door and killed people. Looks like a hovering bunny is going to drop an egg on Jesus' head. Comcast offers $10 internet for low income families. Did you know, President Obama secretly supports the London riots. Background on the London riots. People are displeased with the GOP because they are displeased with President Obama. Wait... WHAT?! Keith Olbermann on Michelle Bachmann's Newsweek cover photo. Bank of America needs to, by law, maintain all of it's seized, vacant, foreclosed properties in one state. Here's some stories that we mentioned but couldn't get to: Rick Santorum says lower your cell phone bill if you can't afford health care. John Boehner claims that the credit downgrade wouldn't have happened if the GOP had been allowed to cut Medicare. Eric Cantor opposes extending unemployment benefits. Seriously, this again? Red States use the most Federal dollars. Are you surprised? Nope, me either. Music this week is from: The Art of War - "Opening and closing themes" They Might BE Giants - "Ana Ng" The Ghastly Ones - "Ghastly Stomp" The Nebulas - "It's GO! Time" Don't forget our "Abstinence only doesn't work" campaign. We here at the Are You Serious Podcast suggest that if you can't resist your urges, engage orally. Episode One Hundred Fifty Five: "Quit butting in please. Your IQ is a mere 155 while mine is a muscular 170." This week, we start the show talking about Harry Potter and Green Lantern. This leads nicely into our first story, Glenn Beck is OUTRAGAGED with the new mixed-race Spider-Man! OUTRAGED! Now, never mind that it in the Ultimate series and Peter Parker is still around in other books. Also, never mind that in 1992, there was a series called Spider-Man 2099 that featured a future web slinger by the name of Miguel O'Hara. This is apparently Michelle Obama's fault. Also, Glenn asserts that the new Spidey is probably gay too. How that matters, I have no idea, but consider the source. Links for other stories covered are below. There is ANOTHER Snow White movie in the works. Pat Buchanan calls President Obama "Your boy" while speaking to Al Sharpton. Michelle Bachmann and the crazy "Marriage vow" she signed. A carjacker tries to steal a police car and uses "The Dark Knight Rises" as an excuse. Morrissey, the tactful compassionate person we know him as, compares the Norway massacre to the slaughter of animals for fast food. Stay classy, douche. Ann Coulter, the tactful compassionate intelligent person we know her as, want gays to hide in the closet, forever. Stay classy, douche. Here are some awesome reviews for the King James version of the Bible on Amazon. Frank's favorite story of the week, owner of killer bear chokes to death on sex toy. Want to text in a theater, make sure you freak out appropriately when asked to stop. Then, after you press charges on the woman that tapped you on the shoulder, make sure you give a crazy threat filled interview. And, our top story: Rep Steve King calls covering birth control pills "Orwellian." Fox News compares covering birth control pills and abuse counseling to covering manicures. Our "Are You Still There?" audio clip can be found here. Music the week is from: The Art of War - intro and outro themes The Bloodhound Gang - "Pennsylvania" Danzig - "Her Black Wings" Anthrax - "Got the Time" Don't forget our "Abstinence only doesn't work" campaign. Episode One Hundred Fifty Three: "153 plus King Tut." This week, we discuss quite a few topics, including, and often referring back to Mac OS Lion. Below links to stories covered. Al Franken destroys a Focus on the Family witness. Apparently, you can't hold hands at a museum. I think Michele Bachmann is a child of the corn. Another New York city clerk refuses to perform same sex marriages. Fox news is dutifully ignoring the Murdoch phone scandal. India's health minister clarifies his "Homosexuality is a disease" comments. Not very well, though. You can have a party over my dead body. Wait! Not literally! The Sarah Palin bio pic "Undefeated" is also unwatchable. Music this week is from: The Art of War - "Are You Serious Intro and Outro Themes" Amon Amarth - "The Pursuit of Vikings" Anti-Flag - "Die For the Government" Murray Gold - Doctor Who theme 2005 - 2007" Don't forget our "Abstinence only doesn't work" campaign. Episode One Hundred Forty Nine: "Aren't we told in Psalm 149 "Praise ye the Lord. Sing unto the Lord a new song. Let them praise His name in the dance"?" First, a word of warning, Frank was awake for almost 48 hours before we recorded this show, so he is not at the top of his game. Being the trooper that he is, he really tried to make the show as good as usual. He did a great job, but, as you'll hear as time goes on, he starts to fade. We discuss a few things, nonsense and movies and the like, then we movie onto some audio clips. Miss America candidates answer if they think that evolution should be taught in school, is women's tennis suffering from the grunting, and other weird stuff. Frank picks out an article from the many I have bookmarked and we talk about what is and isn't in the Bible. At this point, Frank is ready to pass out, so we move on to feedback and call it a show. Here are some links to this week's stories: Sarah Palin quits her bus tour halfway through Texas Governor prepares "The Response." Giant outdoor air conditioners are a "good idea." Was Bristol Palin a victim of date rape, or is it image scrubbing? Herman Cain says... something, I think. Miss America contestants answer a question and we faceplam. Links from our great ongoing illegal immigration discussion: Deportation has increased in the Obama administration, with deportation of criminals increasing by 70%! 80% of farm workers in California are illegal immigrants. Associated Press article from 2008 estimated that illegal immigrant tax-payers contributed $428 billion dollars to U.S. GDP in 2006. Thanks to James from "The Art of War" for the new theme music, it will be evolving over the next several shows, as I try out new audio with it. Music this week is from: Weird Al Yankovic - "TMZ" Gang Green - "Sold Out" Sweet - "Ballroom Blitz" Concrete Blonde - "Everybody Knows" Contact us at 206-338-3094 on the boards at palavr.com on twitter @OTCChris and @frankhauser and check out our facebook group

Episode One Hundred Forty Eight: "You are in violation of Section 148 of the Penal Code: Evading arrest." This week, we recorded late after many attempts to do the show earlier. It ended up that Frank was too busy editing the video he has been talking about, so we did this show with a special guest host. We start off by reviewing Kung Fu Panda 2, X-Men: First Class and the theatrical presentation of Lord of the Rings: Return of the King. From there, we move on to some crazy news stories, including the FACT that becoming a Born Again Christian changes your DNA. For realisies. Links to some of this week's stories: DNA and religion - it changes it! Saying "Twitter" and "Facebook" is not allowed on French T.V. Mayor says, "Hey! Let's buy some land with taxpayer money and just give it to a Catholic School." Presidential candidate Michele Bachmann on Good Morning America. Presidential candidate Michele Bachmann lives in her own reality where women kidnap her in bathrooms. Presidential candidate Michele Bachmann has said some crazy things, here's ten of them. Divorced in Massachusetts? You may need a Judge's approval to have sex. Music this week is from: Chris Bricklemyer - "Are You Serious Theme V.7" Bikini Kill - "Rebel Girl" Powerman 5000 - "Action" Social Distortion - "King of Fools" Concrete Blonde - "Everybody Knows" (I know these are the same songs from last week. I recycled due to time constraints!) Contact the show and let us know what you think! 1-206-338-3094 or you can write areyouseriouspodcast@gmail.com
