Episode One Hundred Forty One: "We knew that that ship, the Challenge 141, had reached its destination." This week, we have some conversation about raising pre-teen girls, and how frustrating it can be. We talk about the Office, 30 Rock and lament again about how good a show Glee could be if it just figured out which direction it wanted to go in. From there, we have the usual dumb news stories, some Tea-Party members that don't get it and some other great listener submitted stories. Music this week is from: Chris Bricklemyer - "Are You Serious Theme V4" Adam Ant - "Desperate, But Not Serious" Freezepop - "Brainpower" Cyndi Lauper - "The Goonies 'R' Good Enough" Call us at 206-338-3094 or write areyouseriouspodcast@gmail.com

Episode One Hundred Forty: "Blood pressure's gonna loosen her teeth and her pulse is pushing 140." This week, we talk about the introduction of Will Ferrell on The Office, 30 Rock, Community, and all the usual suspects that we regularly watch. Oddly, there is also a bit of talk about how the female characters in Disney movies have evolved over the years from Snow White to Rapunzel in Tangled. We then move on to the news stories from this week. From a reasonably sane teacher that cancelled a class, to the rantings of a possible presidential candidate, who's celebrity endorsement starts this week's show. We hit on a few more things, but what's life without surprises? Music this week is from: Chris Bricklemyer - "Are You Serious Theme V.2" Siouxsie and the Banshees - "Ornaments of Gold" Bad Religion - "Sorrow" Social Distortion - "She's a Knockout" Concrete Blonde - "Everybody Knows" Call us at 206-338-3094 or write areyouseriouspodcast@gmail.com

Wednesday Apr 13, 2011
Episode One Hundred Thirty Nine: "Psalms 139, Old Testament. The way you spout these spontaneous exotic references, I'd say your own external memory's pretty twisted." This week, we talk about a whole host of stories, from what constitutes censorship, to Bill Cosby speaking his mind, to a sex doll lawsuit and finally to another scandal with a Church leader. As usual, we have the de rigueur non sequiturs and bull. So, sit back and enjoy the ride. Music this week is from: Chris Bricklemyer - "Are You Serious Theme V.3" GLaDOS - "Still Alive" Faith No More - "Spanish Eyes" Lou Gramm - "Lost in the Shadows" Concrete Blonde - "Everybody Knows" Call us at 206-338-3094 or write areyouseriouspodcast@gmail.com

Episode One Hundred Thirty Eight: "That means you'll not get another penny until the whole $138 is paid up." This week, we talk a bit about Black Swan and the dancing non-troversary, Chris teases a huge Big Bang Theory plot point from last night's show. We talk about how when the director of a movie slams a similar ype of movie currently in release, it's really petty and unprofessional. The looming U.S. government shutdown is discussed, Michael Savages firing, Glenn Becks imminent departure and a host of other topics are discussed. We top the show off with more campaign rhetoric from Rev. Scott, but not before the most well tought out rebuttal we have ever had on out show. Episode One Hundred Thirty Seven:
Friday Apr 01, 2011
Friday Apr 01, 2011
This week, we have a retraction. (Some U.S. history was discussed last week and it was incorrect.) We talk about what little new T.V. there was and we have a discussion about the reception that "Sucker Punch" has received. Since we switched hosting services to podbean, we talk a little about what that means for you, our listeners as well as the show. Chris talks about the absurdity of believing in just one supernatural being, but not others and Frank takes the opposite side. Some confusing stories from the Bible are discussed, like if God created the universe and all of reality just by saying so, why does he need mud or a rib to make people? The comfort and relative safety that religion brings versus truly living your life and experiencing everything you can is also touched on. We have some listener submitted stories that are always good for a laugh (or a head shake) and we stall long enough to get some "propaganda" feedback from Reverend Scott. In rebuttal to last week's campaign message from Scott, we have a very special rebuttal from some up and coming political commentators. Music this week is from Chris Bricklemyer - "Are You Serious Theme V2" Concrete Blonde - "Everybody Knows" "White Rabbit," "I Want It All - We Will Rock You," and "Seek and Destroy" - From the "Sucker Punch soundtrack Call us at 206-338-3094 or write areyouseriouspodcast@gmail.com

This week, we had to, due to necessity, split the show into two parts. This OF COURSE gave us the option to talk even longer than usual. After the second break, we switch out co-hosts! Anything to keep you guys on your toes! Also, the audio quality was sacrificed a tiny bit so you wouldn't have such a huge file to download. We start off talking about the movie "Mystery Team," starring Donald Glover and a who's who of sit-com cameos. From there we go on to talk about a bunch of the regular entertainment topics that we normally do. After that, we start in on some listener submitted stories. As always, it's infuriating and sad, with a little bit of funny. Sadly, not as much sandwich related violence this week. After the break we come back and go over some more news stories, most notably, how Michelle Bachmann thinks that everyone should home school their kids. Dumb, or just totally out of touch? We explore all angles. There is a lot more as well as listener feedback. I decided to wait on playing one audio clip that was sent to us. We didn't get to it in the first half and I really want Frank's reaction to it. Music this week is from: Chris Bricklemyer - "Are You Serious Theme V.2" Def Leppard and Taylor Swift - "Photograph" The Art of Noise - "Dragnet '88" R.E.M. - "Finest Worksong" Concrete Blonde - "Everybody Knows" An Emotional Fish - "Celebrate" Call us at 206-338-3094 or write areyouseriouspodcast@gmail.com

This week, we talk a bit about what a girl who may (or may not) be a brilliant satirist has to say about God and the disaster in Japan. Then we hear from what an absolute moronic sack of meat (Glenn Beck) has to say about it. To balance him out, we give you 7 different way that you can help the massive relief effort. We also talk about Casey, the absolute bad ass kid that stood up to his bully and power slammed him into the ground so hard, the piece of crap bully could not walk straight. We have a few listener submitted stories, oddly enough, two focus on food and violence. We list off ten ways you might know if you are a tea-bagger and we cover a number of other topics, including why Battle: Los Angeles may or may not have the substance to go the distance. And, how can we forget what Michelle Bachmann said about where the Revolutionary War started. Specifically, "The Shot Heard 'Round the World." You won't believe your ears. I certainly didn't. Music this week is from: Chris Bricklemyer - "Are You Serious Theme V.2" David Lee Roth - "California Girls" Loss Straitjackets - "Cavalcade" Johnny Cash - "When the Man Comes Around" Concrete Blonde - "Everybody Knows" Call us at 206-338-3094 or write areyouseriouspodcast@gmail.com

Episode One Hundred Thirty Four:
Wednesday Mar 09, 2011
Wednesday Mar 09, 2011
This week, since there were really no new shows that we watch, we talk a bit about "Rango" and "Rubber." After that, we discuss topics ranging from Wisconsin to Rush Limbaugh to the father that has vowed to kill his son's cannibal murderer. Things take a weird turn, as usual when we read some of the more idiotic rantings from the hate mail pages of dailykos.com. After all that, we talk about how to keep and foster children's sense of innocence and magic. Then we end with some more news about Reverend Scott's campaign. Music this week is from" Chris Bricklemyer - "Are You Serious Theme V.2" Ministry - "Stigmata (remix)" The Cramps - "Surfin' Bird" Sisters of Mercy - "More" Concrete Blonde - "Everybody Knows" Call us at 206-338-3094 or write areyouseriouspodcast@gmail.com

What is happening in Wisconsin? How does it affect you? Will it affect you? Is education important to Republicans? I let Jon Stewart and Rachel Maddow explain just a few of the problems that Wisconsin's Governor Walker is facing while trying to take union rights away.
